Isle of Wight
One of my favourite places to ride - a true escape in a day. Hop in the Wightlink Ferry in Lymington and cruise over to Yarmouth. Maybe stop for a coffee in PO41 before picking up the trail and pedalling over to Freshwater Bay. A loop out to the Needles is the perfect way to build up an appetite, which can be sated at the Piano Cafe in Freshwater before you head home via the chalk ridgeline of Tennyson Down.

Bikes & chips on the beach
Following the Crab & Winkle along the old railway line you head out from Canterbury without a worry about traffic or parking. The cyclepath leads you straight into the heart of Whitstable and to the door of the best chippy around. While you wait for your food, you can take in the independent shops along the High Street before making your way to the beach to eat steaming hot fish & chips

Deal seaside
One of the most accessible cycle rides around, this ride can be as long or as short as you would like. Start from Walmer Castle, where the car park leads directly onto the cycle path or make more of a day of it by heading over from Sandwich. Either way, all routes must lead to Hut 55 on the beach.
